Why the "5/22 Capital Campaign" should matter to the SCI community?

At our Inspire 2020 virtual fundraising event on Sat., Oct. 3rd, we made an announcement involving our “5/22 Capital Campaign”, a strategic goal of NorCal SCI that would seek to raise a minimum of $500,000 by May of 2022 to kickstart an effort by us to begin offering a more expanded and robust rehab experience for those newly injured getting discharged from their acute rehab facilities. This was the cornerstone of why we started NorCal SCI as we witnessed the continuing reduction in the length of stays following a spinal cord injury as well as the limited amount of outpatient therapy available once the newly-injured were discharged.

As we reported last week, our incredible community of supporters helped us net over $116,000 that night as we launched this campaign but our work has just begun. You can watch a video of that evening (edited for length) HERE and take in what we communicated to our supportive participants. The SCI community is small and in order for us to reach our ambitious goal, we need to, as they say, build a bigger tent that would welcome those not affected by a SCI to recognize the importance of their support for our cause. And it all starts with each of you. Please look around and help us connect with such people you have access to.

We won’t be able to offer unlimited therapy to every single person but we will do everything possible to provide those in need with a meaningful extension to their journey of recovery following the devastation caused by a spinal cord injury. If you (or someone you know) wish to contribute to our cause, you can do it HERE.
