OVER $116,000 RAISED

None of us at NorCal SCI were thrilled when we realized months ago that our third annual fundraising party would not take place as it became clear that COVID-19 was going to be with us for a very long time, thereby limiting public gatherings. But, as they say, behind every dark cloud, there is a silver lining. And we found our silver lining on Sat., Oct. 3rd when we hosted our first-ever virtual fundraising event as part of a program that stirred many deep and personal emotions for those in attendance leading to a demonstration of our community’s incredible generosity that netted us over $116,000 in the span of the 75-minute event.

There were actually quite a few silver linings that emerged. We had nearly 20 guests participating from out of state and a few dozen from far distances within the state, something unimaginable with an in-person event. Overall, we had substantially more participants than at any of our previous in-person events.

We’re grateful, once again, to our member of Board of Directors and Master of Ceremonies, Chris Wilder, who graciously braved the early technical glitches and delivered a fun, and at times serious and emotional appeal, to the audience to rise to the occasion and help support NorCal SCI’s ambitious goals to significantly increase our services to the SCI community.

The marquee announcement of the evening was the launch of our “5/22 Capital Campaign”, an ambitious goal to raise a minimum of $500,000 by May of 2022 to help launch a program that would allow us to expand offering extended therapies to those newly-injured as well as support those with longer injuries with meaningful programs to maintain their physical health and mental well being.

Our work has just begun and we welcome those who wish to support our cause by making a donation. We remain humbled by the overwhelming expression of love and support by our community of supporters and will work tirelessly to accomplish our goals.
