Americans For Cures seeks ambassadors, offers training
Americans for Cures is a California nonprofit that is organizing to make sure we continue to support stem cell research in our state. Californians passed Proposition 71 in 2004, which authorized $3 billion for stem cell research. In the last decade, we’ve invested billions to move medicine forward, and spinal cord injury became the first condition targeted in a human clinical trial using stem cells. Americans for Cures offers an Ambassador Program to empower patient advocates to become great organizers. They hold monthly training where new Ambassadors learn more about their work, meet other patient advocates and stem cell scientists, and gain practical skills in public speaking and community organizing. Check out their website here: www.americansforcures.org. This month’s Ambassador Training will take place 9 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 9th at the Gladstone Institute in San Francisco. Attendance is free and meals are provided.
