Bowel & Bladder Pacemaker research opportunity for SCI survivors
At the Feb. 16th SCI Connections meeting in San Jose, Dr. Graham Creasey, professor of SCI at Stanford University, delivered a presentation on the innovative use of a pacemaker device that can assist SCI survivors with managing their bowel and bladder functions as well as providing males with sexual function. You can view the entire presentation's recording HERE. One of the things that Dr. Creasey shared was the potential to provide this device at no cost to qualified recipients. This would involve considering the procedure as research work which then frees up funding to allow for the recipient to qualify. You can learn more about who can participate as well as what is involved by starting the video at the 56 minute mark.
