Disabled community feedback on trail access guides is needed

The Golden Gate National Recreation Area is seeking critical feedback from the disabled community regarding the draft of their Trail Access Guides. As part of that effort, they’re holding two free events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that includes a free lunch.

September 26th at Mori Point – For nearly a century, Mori Point served as a haven for settlers, travelers, boot-leggers and diners. Today, after a generation of development battles, this spectacular place serves as a haven for walkers and wildlife and is a link to national parklands on Sweeney Ridge and Milagra Ridge along the San Mateo coast. September 28th at Battery Alexander in Marin Headlands – The Marin Headlands is a hilly peninsula at the southernmost end of Marin County. The Headlands are famous for their views of the Bay Area, especially of the Golden Gate Bridge.

GGNRA personnel will briefly review the guides that have been developed in a draft format and then hit the trails. You are welcome to drive your own vehicle or accessible transportation is being offered at the Ed Roberts Campus in Berkeley at 8 a.m. Space is limited and advanced reservation is required by contacting Richard De La O at GOGA_Accessibility@nps.gov or call (415) 561-4958.
