Public forum on national parks accessibility on Oct. 30th

The National Park Service is sponsoring a public forum on Sunday, Oct. 30th from 1-4 p.m. to discuss accessibility of the Bay Area national parks. NPS is celebrating its centennial and has embarked on an ambitious effort to not only make the national parks more accessible for the disabled but also solicit feedback from the disabled community on how to further improve access to the parks.

As part of this effort, NPS will be offering free ranger-led tours of various parks that can be signed up for at this forum.  The parks included on this tour are:

• Golden Gate National Recreation Area
• Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site, Danville
• John Muir National Historic Site, Martinez
• Rosie the Riveter National Historic Park, Richmond
• Port Chicago Naval Magazine National Memorial, Concord
