Santa Clara County Paratransit in disarray after FBI raid

Users of the Outreach Paratransit services, which serves some 7,000 users, found out last week that the FBI had raided their offices amid allegations of fraud. The San Jose Mercury News article details the steps the county executives are taking to fulfill the demand for the services that involves some 2,500 daily trips requested by individuals depending on the service.  MV Transportation has been contracted to provide the services.

The Valley Transportation Authority had cancelled its contract with Outreach back in August as well as filing a lawsuit following the disclosure of an audit that discovered Outreach could not account for more than $7 million worth of charges.

The VTA had posted this notice on its web site about the status of the service as of Friday, Nov. 4th.
