SCI survivor featured in Santa Cruz Waves magazine
August 8, 2013 is a date that will forever be etched in 16-year-old Dante Calcagno's memory. An avid mountain biker, Dante ended his day by crashing his bike and suffering a C-5 incomplete injury. The story of Dante's journey and incredible recovery is one of those rare stories we hear of. PNP blogger, Franklin Elieh, was among the early visitors at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center who saw Dante in his early days post injury. He had no idea that Dante will resume most of his normal activities within a year following injury. Dante was featured in the Feb.-March edition of Santa Cruz Waves magazine. You can follow his story by flipping to page 84 of the online edition of the magazine.
