CHRIS WILDER
In 2021, Chris retired from his position as CEO of the Valley Health Foundation. Since 2003, Chris led the effort to raise funds for and awareness of Silicon Valley’s largest (and only public) medical center. During that time, the VMC Foundation has raised more than $70 million for the only hospital in Silicon Valley that serves anyone, regardless of ability to pay. He was named “Outstanding Professional Fund Raiser for 2008” by the Association of Fund Raising Professionals.
“Just as good health doesn’t start in a hospital bed, healing doesn’t end when you leave one,” said Chris. “That’s why the work of NorCal SCI is so important, to strengthen the continuum of care and ensure ongoing support. I’m proud to serve on the Board of this excellent organization.”
Also in 2008, Chris led a coalition that passed “Measure A”, a county-wide ballot initiative which raised $840 million to rebuild Valley Medical Center’s seismically outdated hospital buildings. Another noteworthy tidbit about Chris is that he played a mean bass guitar as part of the band, Legally Blue. They perform at various venues throughout the South Bay.
