A spinal cord injury or disorder is life-changing, and feeling overwhelmed is a completely natural response. It can feel as though your life has been turned upside down, and the future may seem very uncertain. Knowledge and community can provide the foundation for the beginning of a hopeful and strong recovery journey.

Our goal is to ensure every person with a new case of spinal cord injury/disorder admitted at a medical facility or rehab center in Northern California receives a NorCal SCI Newly Injured Resource Kit. (NIRK)
If the rehab facility does not provide a NIRK, please complete the form below and we find a way to get one to you or your loved one.

Included in the Resource Kit is a Smart Home Starter Package (SHSP) Card which will allow the recipient to apply for the program free of charge. Included is the SHSP is a choice of Smart Speaker (Amazon Ego Pro, Apple Home Pod Mini, Google Nest Audio) and a Smart Bulb Pack & Smart Plug Pack) The SHSP is designed to introduce the user to the Smart Home experience where simply by using your voice, many tasks can be carried out. These tasks include making and receiving calls, sending text messages and emails, controlling lights and other household appliances, accessing news, weather, information, entertainment and music all on the Internet.
