Abundance of summer outdoor activities available to disabled community

We wrote last week about the huge Day on the Beach event being put on by Shared Adventures on Sat., July 8th in Santa Cruz.  Important that you register early starting on June 8th as space for many of the activities is limited.  Their web site has all the information.

We also noticed that our friends at New Mobility magazine wrote extensively on summer outdoor programs.  Though the article includes outings at various location in the country, there were two mentions of the Bay Area.  One was the Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors and the other was our friend and Berkeley resident, Bonnie Lewkowicz, who created www.wheelingcalscoast.org/, A Wheelchair Rider's Guide to the California Coast.

At the end of the article, there's a great listing of web sites offering services or opportunities for you to explore this summer.  check out the full article.
