Shared Adventures hosts three accessible activities in August

Santa Cruz-based Shared Adventures has a busy month of August presenting a wheelchair tennis clinic, kayaking the Elkhorn Slough and archery lessons that completely accommodate individuals in wheelchairs.

Sunday, August 13th features a doubleheader as both the wheelchair tennis clinic and the kayaking event occur on the same day though at different times.  The tennis clinic is a one-hour long sessions that starts at 11 a.m. at the Seascape Sports Club in Aptos.  Any age and skill level is invited to attend and tennis chairs will be available to try out.  For more information, or to register for this event, contact Kristen Ferlito: (831) 214-0422 kdbythesea@yahoo.com.

Kayaking the Elkhorn Slough takes place that same day but runs from 3:30-7 p.m.  Experienced guides will help you paddle around sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions, and birds of all kinds.  This event occurs at Moss Landing, about 24 miles south of Santa Cruz off Highway 1.  For more information, contact Shared Adventures at info@sharedadventures.org or call (831) 459-7210.

On Saturday, August 19th, archery lessons are offered from 10 a.m. to noon at the Santa Cruz Archery Range located at 141 Brookwood Dr., Santa Cruz.  You can learn the basics of archery or improve your skills with the best teachers at Santa Cruz Archers. All participants are encouraged to give a $5 donation that can be left in the donation bin at the range.
