DSLC announces upcoming events in Santa Rose

Though there's much work to be done in terms of recovery from the devastating North Bay wildfires of last October, the Santa Rosa-based Disability Services & Legal Center (DSLC) keeps forging ahead with various events it is staging.

As we had previously reported, their annual Tech Expo has been re-scheduled for Fri., May 11th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

DSLC will also begin hosting a monthly All Disability Support Group to take place on the last Wednesday of every month.  The meeting's purpose is to facilitate group discussion and peer mentoring among people living with a disability in Sonoma County.  Meeting time is from 5-6 p.m. and will be held at DSLC's office at 521 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa.  Contact Lake Kowell for more information at lake@mydslc.org or by phone at (707) 636-3063.

Finally, they're also organizing a day of riding the new SMART Train.  Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is the San Francisco Bay Area’s newest transportation option for travel, offering passenger rail service in Sonoma and Marin counties. SMART’s initial 43 miles of rail corridor includes 10 stations, from the Sonoma County Airport to Downtown San Rafael.  The event is scheduled for Wed., Jan. 31st, starting at 9 a.m. in Santa Rosa and returning at 3 p.m. You must have a prepaid ticket and should RSVP with lake@mydslc.org.
