Wheelchair Curling: you know you've always wanted to try it

Chances are you've watched curling during the Olympics over the years.  And chances are that you probably rolled your eyes at it.  Well, time for you to get into your wheelchairs and attend the free Center for Independent Living-sponsored Wheelchair Curling (yes, on the ice) clinic held on Fri., May 18th at the Oakland Ice Center.

CIL is collaborating with the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club to put on this clinic.  The Club is actually the oldest arena curling club in the U.S. established in 1958.  Though the event is free, you must register HERE.

It's an introductory class, so you don't need to bring anything with you other than some warm and flexible clothing.  It is, after all, an ice rink.  If you easily get cold, bring a hat/beanie and gloves.  Now, as for the schedule for this clinic, this is not a mis-print.  It is from 9:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. at the Oakland Ice Center located at 519 18th St. in Oakland.
