NorCal SCI meets up with the PT staff at SCVMC

Our most recent stop to introduce NorCal SCI didn't take us very far as co-founders Nick and Franklin teamed up to meet the Physical Therapy staff at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) on Wed., July 18th to introduce the landscape of the SCI community in Northern California along with the work we're doing.

Every year, SCVMC sees the largest number of newly-injured SCI patients in Northern California and has developed a great deal of experience in treating such injuries.  Thus, they come into contact with individuals who can also benefit from the types of services and support we offer.

The 45-minute presentation provided the landscape of SCI care in Northern California supported by data that Nick shared.  We also reviewed the various initiatives we have launched and the benefits they provide.

We are grateful to Ann Perkins and Teri Zimmerman from SCVMC for their help in setting up this meeting and would also like to extend our gratitude to Shonna Moran, the long-time PT Supervisor at the hospital for making her staff available for this in-service.  NorCal SCI is looking forward to meeting the other departments that play a critical role in each newly-injured patients' care at SCVMC.
