Day On The Lake organizers recognized by County with commendation

The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors officially recognized the Day on the Lake event with a commendation at its Mon., Aug. 13th meeting which was attended by several dozen individuals involved with the organizing of the successful June 2nd water-based activities event held at Vasona Park and Lake in Los Gatos.

The commendation marked a significant achievement for the forces that came together to put on a magnificent event that saw over 100 persons with disabilities be able to experience kayaking, sailing and canoeing on the lake, many of them for the first time ever.  You can see the video presentation starting at the 1:19:30 mark.

Many organizations and dozens of volunteers worked collaboratively to help support this event, including Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Dept., Valley Medical Center Foundation, NorCal SCI, Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC), Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors (BAADS), LGS Recreation/Vasona Boating, Pu Pu 'O Hawaii Outrigger Canoe Club and San Jose Firefighters.
