When we began discussing the idea of helping put on a comedy event some six months ago, our main motive was to bring a large group of people together and help raise awareness of spinal cord injury. Thanks to our friend and member of our Board of Directors, Arash Bayatmakou, we certainly achieved that while creating a fun evening for members of the SCI community to mingle with the greater community of able bodies who got together on Thurs., Nov. 7th for a packed house show that featured six Bay Area comedians entertaining the capacity crowd for nearly two hours.

We’re especially grateful to another comedian, Irishman David Nihill, who pulled the entire event together, including securing six comedians who donated their time and delivered a fun evening at the great La Pena Cultural Center in Berkeley. The six comedians were: Terry Dorsey, Ryan Goodcase, Rudy Ortiz, Mark Smalls, Amy Howerska and Joe Klocek.

Thanks to all the guests who showed their support of our cause, the evening raised $2,200 which would go toward funding a very ambitious set of programs that we have committed to delivering for the SCI community in Northern California in 2020.
