Beating the odds: Fresno firefighter's journey to walk again after life-changing accident

We were thrilled to see our good friend and NorCal SCI’s recipient of the first Road To Recovery grant, Mia Gonzalez, be featured in a Fresno area TV station’s profile, showing her hard work toward recovering from a spinal cord injury suffered while hiking nearly two years ago. As the segment shows, Mia has not given up on her dreams of walking once again and she’s as determined as ever to pursue that goal.
