SCI Special Fund: financial assistance available to the SCI community

A special fund set up by real estate developer, Rog Severson, who suffered a spinal cord injury in 1986 and then passed away in 2012, has been helping many people with SCI without the financial means to acquire certain medical equipment, assist with going back to school or work and other needs aimed at getting individuals to become more independent.

In times when funding is scarce, the foundation set up by Rog may be able to assist you. They do require income verification and all applicants must be legal California residents with a documented spinal cord injury and may qualify for funding for items such as:

  • Assistive technology

  • Equipment

  • Transportation

  • Education

  • Employment

The SCI Fund encourages applicants to request funding for specific items they need and they will be notified if their request is valid.  To apply, complete the application by downloading it HERE.
