For many men, and couples who want to become parents through conception, the fertility challenges posed by a spinal cord injury for a male can, at times, be overwhelming and frustrating. Men with SCI face specific fertility challenges. The vast majority have a hard time sustaining an erection and their sperm quality and motility declines. It all adds up to difficulty fathering children. In came to the rescue, Pam Lauer, Nurse Practitioner at the fertility clinic at Craig Hospital in Colorado.
