REVOLUTION 2020: BORP revolutionizes the running of its major fundraising event

COVID-19 continues to force individuals and organizations to re-imagine and re-organize many tasks and events and the annual Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program’s (BORP) Revolution Ride & Festival will be no exception. Billed as BORP’s biggest and most important fundraiser of the year, Revolution 2020 has been re-formatted as both a virtual and outdoor event this year, running from Oct. 1-4 allowing participants to connect with the BORP community, engage in fun exercise options, and raise funds to support sports & recreation programs for people with disabilities.

The 2020 Revolution will open with a short launch party on Thurs., Oct. 1st and end Sun., Oct. 4th with a celebration & awards ceremony (both events will be held on Zoom; attendance encouraged but optional). Then, between Oct. 1st and Oct. 4th, participants will complete their activity goal. Activity options will be:

  • Cycle 5, 10, 25, 50 or 70 miles*

  • Run, walk, roll or stroll 2, 5, or 10 miles*

  • Participate in up to six of BORP's online fitness classes (from Oct 2nd to 4th, BORP will offer 10 inclusive Revolution Fitness Classes in dance, yoga, strength training, etc.) Classes will take place on Zoom.

As in previous years, participants are asked to each raise at least $400 from friends & family to support BORP programs. Incentives will be offered for recruiting new participants and achieving key fundraising goals. While details will be forthcoming, send any questions to elaine@borp.org
