BACKBONES presents Nov. 9 webcast on "Sex & Disability for women with SCI/D"
BACKBONES, a non-profit that supports individuals with spinal cord injury/disorder, is hosting a live webcast on “Women & SCI/D: Sex & Disability” on Tues., Nov. 9th at 4 p.m. PST centered around a conversation about sex and disability aimed for women with SCI/D, addressing topics such as consent, communication, pleasure, sexual aides and more. Bethany obtained her M.A. in Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University as well as a doctoral degree in sociology at Georgia State University and comes with a diverse background of interests that ground her sexuality work in human and civil rights. She has delivered presentations, facilitated workshops internationally, and taught courses in public health, disability studies, and social work in five states infusing the content with pleasure politics.
Women & SCI/D Health Talks is a community-led program aimed to provide women with SCI information, community and space to discuss topics such as sexuality, women’s health, and relationships.
