Webcast on “Women & SCI: addressing and surviving abuse” coming Dec. 14

As part of its Women with SCI/D Health Talk series, BACKBONES is presenting “addressing and surviving abuse“, a live webcast held on Tues., Dec. 14th at 4 p.m. PST featuring Jenna Hardy-Surina, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based out of Southern California. After working for over a decade helping people with physical rehabilitation post SCI and other neuromuscular conditions, Jenna witnessed the major gap in the holistic care for people living with chronic disabilities and health conditions, especially when it came to addressing the mental and emotional aspects of these diagnoses.

Wanting to do more, Jenna returned to school and achieved her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Today, she works in private practice providing therapy services to help individuals and families through tough conversations to empower them to say “no” to giving-up, and help them discover their true potential for a fulfilling life after diagnosis.
