Latest report shows airlines mishandled 2,290 wheelchairs between July-September 2021

The latest batch of numbers provided by the Air Travel Consumer Report showed that during a 3-month period between July-September of 2021, U.S. airlines reported damaging nearly 2,300 wheelchairs with Spirit Airlines, Jetblue Airways, American Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Southwest Airlines responsible for the highest percentage of damages inflicted upon these devices between January-September of 2021. Altogether, during the first nine months of 2021, there were 4,768 wheelchair reported damaged and the statistics also showed minimal improvement when compared to a similar period in 2020.
