BIAC offers free rowing event for Veterans/members of Armed Forces on June 26 in Redwood City
Bair Island Aquatic Center (BIAC) in Redwood City is offering Veterans and Members of the Armed Services an opportunity to experience the full range of opportunities and benefits to be gained from recreational rowing free on Sat., June 26th from 1-3 p.m. This event is for both disabled and able-bodied and participants will benefit from the knowledgeable, passionate coaches and a safe and fun environment to learn the basics of rowing on machines and the water. There will be ample volunteers to help keep the boats stable and with transfers. You can register for this event HERE.
Enjoy some time in the sun, surrounded by nature and new friends. The staff can tailor the equipment to almost anyone, traditionally those who have CP class 4 or higher-level spinal cord injuries (T12 and up) can participate. Be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, close-fitting clothes/shoes appropriate for an outdoor workout, and a bottle of water.
