SAVE THE DATE: NorCal SCI's 4th Annual Fundraising Event to be held virtually Oct. 9th
Going into last year's first-ever virtual fundraising event, we weren't sure what to expect. We had only seen a couple of them prior to ours and did learn a lot … like there will always be some technical challenges. And sure enough, for those of you who attended our virtual event last October, ours occurred right off the bat though it only lasted a few minutes. And once we got past that hurdle, we sat back and enjoyed watching the incredible and overwhelming outpour of support through your kindness and generosity en route to raising a staggering $116,000 to help support our most ambitious initiative ever -- the "5/22 Capital Campaign" that aims to raise half a million dollars by May of 2022. The funds will be used to help launch an ambitious and much-needed therapy program to help support the continuing recovery of those with a spinal cord injury who become victims of inadequate rehab at a time they desperately need it.
In the midst of a pandemic, our work has continued on without missing a beat. We have launched new programs and have been working feverishly on the 5/22 Capital Campaign's actual work and can't wait to share a major update as well as next steps. Despite this week's re-opening of the State, we decided to hold this year's fundraising event, INSPIRE 2021, virtually, not only out of abundance of caution but also because of the convenience it brought to many who attended it last year. We had supporters across the State and the country attending our event and more of you participated than ever before.
Your support means a lot to us and our spinal cord injury community. We are working on an hour-long event which will be fun, informative and would hopefully impress upon you the critical role you continue to play in our success.
For now, please save the date as there will be more details to come in the coming weeks. Thank you for always being there for us and thank you for inspiring us to do more.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 9th from 6-7 p.m.
