Beginning Thurs., June 10th, BORP is offering a virtual series of six Seated Pilates and Breathwork workshops where you will learn breathing strategies, deepen your understanding of “mind-body” and work with seated movement that focuses on lengthening the head to tail and opening and strengthening the upper body. These things can help you access your body’s full capacity. Though it is intended for those with spinal cord injuries, the workshop is inclusive to all.

These workshops are led by Liz Ann Kudrna, a student and teacher of Pilates and its concepts for over 25 years. She is a certified instructor with the Pilates Method Alliance and has a B.S. in dietetics. Liz Ann was introduced to Pilates while working in a Physical Therapy outpatient clinic in the Bay Area and incorporated Pilates in a physical therapy setting for about seven years. In 1999, she started Body in Balance Pilates Studio in Montana.

In 2008,  Liz Ann became paralyzed at T5 after a climbing accident. She has developed several classes directed towards those with mobility challenges based on exploring her own experience and those of her clients with mobility challenges.

Due to the progressive and intimate nature of this workshop, class size is limited to 10 participants who are asked to commit attending most sessions though it’s understood that sometimes life gets in the way, so it’s ok if you miss a class. Classes will be held on Zoom and recorded (instructor video only) and will be available on-demand through BORP’s YouTube channel. E-mail Cynthia@borp.org for more information and to register.
