Emma Whaley’s “The Hard Journey”

The Palo Alto Art Center is hosting “The Art of Disability Culture”, an exhibit that features work created by artists with disabilities celebrating their insight, fragility, honesty, and resilience. We’re happy to announce that the work of Northern California artists with a spinal cord injury is part of the exhibit, including those of Penngrove resident, Anthony Tusler, and 9-year-old Emma Whaley of Roseville. The exhibit runs through Dec. 11th and you can learn more about it HERE.

Anthony’s iconic black-and-white photos from the disability rights movement are often used in disability history projects. Emma is a talented and budding, as well as the youngest, artist featured at this exhibit. Admission is free and the facility is fully accessible and located at 1313 Newell Road, Palo Alto. It is open Tues.-Sat. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
