COOKING WITH ARASH & SHELLEY: on Jan. 20, learn how to celebrate Chinese New Year with healthy Chinese meals

Almost two billion people celebrate Chinese (or Lunar) New Year, which falls on February 1st this year. So let's get in the spirit and cook some fun and easy takes inspired by this holiday that's celebrated not only by China but also a number of other East Asian countries. If you've never tried your hand at homemade dumplings, for example, this is your chance! On Thurs., Jan. 20th at 5 p.m. PST, join Arash and Shelley as they share some new year dishes you can make at home. It’s all happening as part of our latest installment of “NorCal SCI Presents: Virtual is the New Reality Series” which you can register for HERE.

This presentation is made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors and you must register in advance to attend. Once you register, you will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail from us which you should keep for access information to the virtual event.

Arash experienced his SCI in 2012 as a result of a fall. A Bay Area native, Arash credits his California upbringing for his love of the outdoors, nature, and cooking, activities he still cherishes as he continues to travel, explore and enjoy new experiences.

Shelley is a lifelong advocate of nutrition. When she isn’t working with her patients, she can be found in her greenhouse or kitchen. She obtained her B.S. in Nutritional Science from San Jose State University in 2012 and has been working at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, one of the top spinal cord injury rehabilitation hospitals in the country, since 2013.
