2nd Annual KFRC Adaptive Car Show is a Success!
On Saturday, September 13th, for the 2nd year in a row, Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center (KFRC) in Vallejo held its adaptive car show for the disability community to come and see a variety of cars and vehicles that have all been adapted to the users’ needs.
It was a well-organized and fun-filled event showcasing a diverse offering of vehicles including: cars, pickup trucks, RVs, camper vans, sports cars, wheelchairs, dune buggies, and a bunch of other wheeled devices that don’t fit into a specific category, but that you had to see for yourself in person.
Attendees were able to check out all the different adaptations and talk to the car owners, who were more than happy to share how they had adapted their vehicles to suit their particular needs.
In addition, NorCal SCI and a number of other non-profits and other SCI-focused organizations were on hand as well to share information and educate the community about available resources and programs.
It was a fantastic event and we’re already looking forward to see what next year’s event will bring!
