Another Successful Accessibility Day, Vital for the SCI Community

Last Saturday saw the biggest gathering of accessible vehicles and wheelchair vendors in Northern California since Abilities Expo pulled the plug on the Bay Area Event in 2018. We have to congratulate the Rehabilitation Team at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for creating such a professional and well ran event. With multiple non profits organizations serving both SCI, Stroke and Brain Injury in attendance along with displays of many accessible recreational and sporting activities, this was indeed a comprehensive and enjoyable event.

As some of the current SCVMC patients were able to attend, being able to interact with the wheelchair community and see what is achievable after a devastating injury gave many a new perspective on what is possible.
”It was awesome, I had no idea there were all these options for accessible vehicles, seeing so many wheelchair users there thriving gave a sense of hope for the future” current SCVMC SCI patient from the Central Coast.

Our booth was constantly busy with friends from the community, old and new and their were individuals who had driven hundreds of miles just to attend the event.
