Another Successful Adaptive Kayaking & Community Event at Vasona Park

NorCal SCI co-founder Nick with wife Julie at Vasona Park, June 8th, 2025.

For the 3rd year in a row, NorCal SCI hosted a summer social event focused on bringing together the SCI community and sharing the unique, wheelchair accessible dock and kayaking program available at Vasona Lake in Los Gatos.

We had over 45 attendees join us on June 8th to try adaptive kayaking, socialize with old friends and new, enjoy our hosted lunch, and take part in this fun and rewarding event. For many, it was their first experience kayaking post injury and for others, it was an opportunity to get back out on the water and paddle around the gorgeous surroundings.

The weather cooperated and we had a great time meeting everyone. NorCal SCI co-founder Nick, Executive Director Arash, and Board Member Dan were all there in person to meet our community in person. We absolutely cherish these opportunities and it was great meeting our community members who came from the immediate area and as far as Modesto and Sacramento.

Thank you to all our attendees, family members, and volunteers who stepped up to make this a special day.

And remember that Adaptive Kayaking is available at Vasona Lake throughout the summer so please don't hesitate to go back and do it all again on your own!  There is always help to get you into the kayak. You can book your slot HERE
