FREE On-Demand Wheelchair Accessible Rides in San Francisco

An exciting new partnership between TowerWAV and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) will begin to offer the Tower Transit program.

Their mission is to provide free, safe, reliable, and on demand wheelchair accessible transportation and this partnership will provide this complimentary service in the Outer Sunset/Outer Richmond areas of San Francisco. This service is not restricted to residents and is open to any wheelchair users in the specific service areas who need the rides.

Here is some crucial information:

  • Currently, all rides are FREE.

  • Service hours are 6AM - 10PM every day.

  • Anyone can book through the online booking platform or via the “Tower Transit SF” application, available on iOS and Android. 

  • They service the following areas only:

    • Golden Gate Park

    • Outer Richmond

    • Outer Sunset

    • Oceanview

    • Lakeshore

    • Parkside

Please review the zone service map below for more specific information on permissible rides. Rides can be completed between both the yellow and blue zones or within the yellow zone. Rides cannot be requested and completed if only in the blue zone.
