Local Company Needs User Feedback for Eye Control Software
What if you could use your eyes to control your phone?
Athena is developing the first eye-controlled user interface for mobile, that requires no special hardware or personalized calibration. By using eye tracking and artificial intelligence the technology detects when, where, and how fast a person is reading and automatically scrolls the display accordingly. Athena allows a person to read digital content without having to use their hands or voice. You can also swipe up and down using simple eye gestures. Athena’s mission is to make digital content more accessible and immersive, for people with and without disabilities.
Since first starting to develop the technology here in the Bay Area, Athena has been adamant about having people with various disabilities testing the technology and sharing feedback. From quadriplegics, to amputees, to people with chronic pain. Athena is hoping to get the NorCalSCI community involved and is looking for anyone that might be interested in trying the technology, and sharing their feedback. Caregivers are also welcome!
