NorCal SCI & BORP Continue Partnership to Help Disability Community

Emily and Arash at the Ed Roberts Campus

Since its inception, NorCal SCI has always looked for opportunities to collaborate and partner with organizations serving the SCI and disability community. We believe that strong partnerships and a cooperative approach with like-minded organizations ultimately benefits the community we aim to serve.

One of those partner organizations is Bay Area Outreach and Recreation Program or BORP, based in Berkeley and providing a variety of sports, fitness, and recreation opportunities for people of all ages with disabilities. We’ve always been impressed with the impact that BORP has had on people in the community and align with their desire to encourage people of any ability to be active and get moving, in any capacity.

Like NorCal SCI, BORP has a new Executive Director, Emily Seelenfreun. Our own Executive Director Arash Bayatmakou, was able to meet Emily for the first time last week and discuss further collaborations in 2024 and beyond.

We look forward to continuing our engagement with BORP and partnering together for future events.
