SCI Connections Event – Reimagining Ability: Adaptive sports and leisure activities

NorCal SCI and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center are proud to host the upcoming quarterly SCI connections event on Wednesday, May 28th.

Discover how adapted sports and recreation programs empower individuals with disabilities to thrive, connect, and stay active. You’ll hear from members of the community and local organizations who are paving the path and giving people with disabilities the opportunities to take part in activities and thrive.

The presentation will explore inclusive opportunities, success stories, and ways to get involved in creating accessible communities. Some of the activities you’ll hear about include: adaptive cycling (manual and e-bike), adaptive flying, wheelchair racing, rugby, and other sports and activities

After the 40 minute presentation, we will host a Q&A segment, followed by time to network and enjoy dinner.

The event is free but we ask that you register HERE so we can plan our food needs accordingly. We will also livestream the event on zoom.

If you have any questions or need more info about the event, please contact Robert Medel at (408) 885.2397 or Robert.medel@hhs.sccgov.org
