Other News
Forty-three Senators (including California’s Senators Feinstein and Harris) oppose
weakening the ADA, and they have signed a letter to Senate leaders, vowing to keep a bill
which passed the House of Representatives (HR 620) from being brought up in the Senate. The
fight to retain our rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act may not be over, but at least
it has stalled for now. A shout-out to Senator Tammy Duckworth – a Senator, a veteran, and a double amputee - and all other activists who have been both loud, proud, and effective in their
opposition to the bill!
