This month’s meeting of the Sonoma-Marin SCI Support Group will be held on Monday, March 18 from 4:00-5:30 pm at the Clubhouse of the Azure Apartment complex (5 Indigo Drive –Petaluma). If you are a newcomer call Stan at 707-774-6466 to notify the group if you are planning to attend.

Save the date: on Saturday, April 27th the Disability Services and Legal Center (DSLC) will be hosting their annual A.D.A. (Aging, Disability, and Advocacy) Expo, a unique event that highlights technologies specifically designed to assist people with disabilities and the utilization of these technologies. The Expo will be held in the Grace Pavilion at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. It will run from 10 am – 3 pm. The goal of this event is to educate and inform seniors, Veterans, people with disabilities, health professionals, educators, and the general public about Assistive Technology and the services that are available for them.

Santa Rosa Junior College Disability Resource Department and the Adapted Physical Education Program - offers accommodations that enable students with disabilities to
participate in Junior College courses, and also administers courses designed to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities – programs that enhance strength and flexibility for students with a ride range of disabilities are also available through their Adapted Physical Education program http://drd.santarosa.edu/disability-resources-home

Santa Rosa Blazers – the Blazers offer people with disabilities a highly charged, competitive recreational outlet though wheelchair basketball – the Blazers play in six regional tournaments every year, against teams from San Jose, Berkeley, Sacramento, Reading, and Reno – anyone with a lower

IHSS – In Home Supportive Services is a Sonoma County Human Services Department program designed to help people of any age who live with a disability to remain living safely and independently in their own home - clients of the program select their own caregiver, and the program pays their wages – services are limited to tasks the individual is unable to do on his/her own - the office is open Monday - Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm and is located at 3725 Westwind Boulevard - Santa Rosa - Phone: (707) 565-5900 - http://sonomacounty.ca.gov/Human-Services/Adult-and-Aging/In-Home-Supportive-Services
