A spinal cord injury or disorder is life changing and being frightened and confused is a natural response.  It can feel that your life has been turned upside down and the future seems very uncertain.  Knowledge and understanding is key to being aware of the situation. The features on this page are designed to help you start the journey.  Although every spinal cord injury is unique, thousands of individuals in Northern California have been successful in navigating the challenges and have gone on to lead enjoyable and fulfilling lives.  Whether you or someone close to you has been injured, you are not alone.  There are many individuals and organizations dedicated to supporting you as you start this new journey.

Spinal Cord 101

Many rehab centers offer counseling and Peer Mentoring for the newly injured and their loved ones.

APPLY FOR a care Package

NorCal SCI has the resources to ensure every individual in Northern California who recently had a Spinal Cord Injury or Disorder receives a Care Package. The Care Package is full of information and resources designed to help the individual start their journey.

If the rehab facility does not provide a Care Package, contact NorCal SCI and we'll find a way to get a Care Package to you or your loved one.
