Many people do have a choice to where they can do rehab and the purpose of this report is to give vital information to ensure you or your loved one gets the best possible start on the recovery journey.

Since the Rehabilitation Center began treating individuals with spinal cord injuries in 1941, thousands of men, women, adolescents and children have trusted us with their care. The high numbers of patients translate directly into more experience across all aspects of rehabilitation which, in turn, helps create better patient outcomes after leaving the Rehabilitation Center. We maintain specialty programs in Recreational Therapy, Peer Support as well as a 10-bed Specialty Respiratory Unit, with some of the best outcomes in the nation for vent weaning of persons with SCI.

The health system’s Acute Rehabilitation Hospital is located on the university’s Sacramento campus and is affiliated with UC Davis Medical Center. It’s a 19-bed unit with semi-private rooms. The rehabilitation service is the only one of its kind in inland Northern California to provide integrated, comprehensive care in both hospital and outpatient settings. Acute Rehabilitation and Continuum of Care. The Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder (SCI/D) Center at the VA Palo Health Care System is a CARF accredited rehabilitation center. The Center is affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine and has been serving SCI/D since 1974. We provide comprehensive rehabilitation, annual wellness checks, specialized services, and coordinate lifetime care in collaboration for veterans and active duty military with injury or disease of the spinal cord in many of the westerns states of the USA. We promote mobilization, functional independence, community participation, and prevention of complications throughout their lifetime.
