NorCal SCI Welcomes Sarah Yost
In its efforts to continue to expand its services and better serve the SCI community, NorCal SCI has added Sarah Yost to its team as the Operations and Program Support Specialist. Sarah will be essential in supporting our existing programs, improving our outreach, and allowing us to find novel ways to help the community. And as a Fresno resident, she will strengthen our presence in a high population area with many residents with SCIs, who can benefit from our services.
After sustaining a T9 incomplete spinal cord injury in March 2021, she brings a personal connection to the SCI/D community and a strong passion for helping others. She will be drawing from her experience as an elementary and high school teacher, where she inspired students with her enthusiasm. In her personal life, as a former long-distance runner with a love for travel, Sarah is now enjoying adaptive fitness and accessible travel.
Sarah actively supports research by participating in clinical trials and attending events like the Reeve Foundation Conference in March to stay updated on the latest advancements. At NorCal SCI, Sarah is dedicated to strengthening programs and serving the community with enthusiasm and care.
"I’m incredibly grateful to NorCal SCI and the SCI/D community for welcoming me as I step into this role. I can’t wait to connect with everyone at our community meetups and share in the journey ahead!"
