NorCal SCI heads down to Fresno to meet with SCI Support Group

We learned about the SCI Support Group in Fresno just about a year ago and thought what better way to mark that milestone than for Nick, NorCal SCI co-founder, to take a trip down there to meet with Allen Roope, the peer counselor at the Leon S. Peter’s Rehabilitation Center Support Group, and those attending the meetings.

The meetings take place every other month in Fresno at the center which is located at 2823 Fresno St., 6 West Dayroom.  

Our goal is to meet and help support all the SCI Support Groups in Northern California in any way we can.  This meeting will provide us with a unique opportunity to learn how this group functions, share what we can from our experiences with other support groups, including the technical assistance and our outreach to the hospitals and rehab facilities.  It speaks to our core mission here at NorCal SCI:  to get the SCI communities in Northern California to help each other.

When Nick gets back, we'll plan on reporting on his trip and share with you the great work that Allen has been doing in Fresno.  Safe travels, Nick.
