SCVMC re-schedules date for patient move-in to the new building

The atrium at the new Sobrato Pavilion is a thing of beauty.

We hope it wasn't due to the excessive celebration during the Dec. 2nd public opening of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center's Sobrato Pavilion but the hospital announced that it will push back the date of transferring the patients to the new building.

All patients were due to be transferred on Dec. 10th but final approval from all the governing agencies and organizations for building occupancy got delayed, forcing the hospital to push back the move-in date.  The tentative date is now Sun., Dec. 17th and if that doesn't occur, it may likely occur in January since the next window of time will be too close to the Christmas holiday which complicates the scheduling due to a reduction in the number of employees who tend to take a lot of time off during that time.

In the meantime, if you missed the video highlighting the official opening ceremony, here it is again.
