SCVMC honoring departing SCI peer support group member on May 18

We wrote about JoAnna Johnstone last week as she's moving to Idaho to be with her family.  And now, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center is honoring her on Thursday, May 18th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in lieu of its SCI Connections meeting.

JoAnna has been a peer supporter for over five years and has provided invaluable service and advice to the newly-injured SCI patients that go through the SCVMC Rehabilitation Center but she's especially effective in dealing with the female patients.

Food and refreshments will be provided and friends and families are invited to attend but you must RSVP by the morning of Wed., May 17th.  To do so, contact Robert Medel by phone at (408) 885-2397 or e-mail at vmcpeersupport@scvmcrehab.org.

As weather forecast calls for a beautifully warm day, the event will take place in the 1Rehab Courtyard (located in the Rehabilitation Department), 751 S. Bascom Ave., San Jose.
