Why NorCal SCI? A message from the co-founders

Welcome to the all-new norcalsci.org

We are thrilled to launch this new site that we believe will be the beginning of many new and exciting ways that the spinal cord injury communities throughout Northern California will be able to benefit from.  Hence, the reason for our name.

We were previously involved with The Patterson Network Project (PNP) which provided us with an amazing opportunity to develop a site from nothing to one of the fewest spinal cord injury online communities in the country that was constantly creating new content and distributing information to its audience.  Our colleague, Ron Sidell, will continue operating PNP as a separate entity and we wish him much continued success as he determines how to carry on PNP's mission.

Our new organization will have some ambitious goals that it will be working on achieving and over the course of the coming weeks, we will be communicating how we're working to bring the Northern California SCI community closer together.  And by the way, in case you're wondering what's up with the pictures of bridges throughout the web site, rather than slapping pictures of wheelchairs, we wanted to communicate our goal of bridging together all the various SCI communities throughout Northern California.  So, yes, you'll see more bridge pictures in the coming weeks as we travel throughout Northern California.

We'll also be adding more contributors and volunteers to help us move our goals forward and will be introducing them and their roles in the coming weeks.  Finally, starting with this issue, we'll produce a weekly newsletter full of articles on topics that we think you'll find of interest and benefit.

If you wish to contribute with any ideas or feedback, please reach out to us at info@norcalsci.org.
