Warning issued over ‘Pay-to-Participate’ stem cell clinical studies

The U.S. National Institutes of Health maintains the https://clinicaltrials.gov/site that contains a repository of some 250,000 clinical trials taking place in over 200 countries.  A recent investigation revealed the dark side of the site where companies are promoting so-called clinical trials that require financial investment by the person enrolling in such studies.

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine recently wrote a lengthy feature on this amazingly unchecked practice that is raising all sorts of red flags within the scientific community.  Check out the article.
