Forma Gym Walnut Creek Turkey Trot opens opportunities for wheelchair users to participate in “5k Wheel & Walk”

Our friends at Forma Gym/RISE Paralysis Recovery Center are hosting the 26th Annual Turkey Trot race on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22nd in downtown Walnut Creek and new for this year, they are welcoming all wheelchair users or other persons with physical disabilities to take part in this fun event for free.

The race course goes through a flat terrain of neighborhoods, businesses, and part of the Iron Horse Trail, and the organizers have taken extra steps to make the event barrier-free.  Participants may use manual or power wheelchairs as well as hand or foot pedal cycles.  Proceeds from the event benefit five local non-profit organizations.

To qualify for the free registration, you must email rise@formagym.com by Nov. 21st and request the promo code.  Once you receive that code, you must register for the event using that code before race day.  No registrations are permitted on race day in conjunction with the promo code.  Participants requiring a “chaperone/assistance” must have the individual register for the race ($10 off when using a promo code at registration).
