The vast majority of research and clinical trials to find a cure for paralysis are focused on those with a new injury which tends to disappoint the over 250,000 individuals in the U.S. defined as having a chronic spinal cord injury. However, Stephen Strittmatter, founder of ReNetX Bio and professor of neurology and neuroscience at Yale University has been targeting those with longer term injuries and if the early results are an indication, his work is very promising.
