BORP offers introductory "MOVE" class for brain/body fitness Dec. 7

Berkeley-based Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program (BORP) is once again offering another introductory MOVE class taught by fitness trainer, Dianna Rowley, in advance of a regular weekly class starting in January.

MOVE is a seated, non-impact class about brain/body circulation and physical habits around alignment and balance. The class promotes circulation through hand/eye coordination, proper posturing, nerve stimulation, deep breathing, stretching, isolations, strength conditioning and QiGong. This class is for all levels/ages and benefits the nervous system, the metabolism and the immune system. This is a great class for anyone who has circulation challenges, has physical pain, is recovering from an injury/surgery or anyone who is proactive with their health. Instructor can easily adjust exercises based on participants specific needs and goals. Beyond the physical benefits, this class improves mood through engagement and uplifting music. People with SCI are encouraged to sign up.

Dianna has been a professional Dancer and Fitness Trainer for over 20 years and developed this class as a personal ritual during her SCI recovery.

The class is held on Fri., Dec 7 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the BORP Fitness Studio, Ed Roberts Campus, 3075 Adeline, Suite 150, Berkeley. Class fee is $11, seniors 55 and older & veterans, $8.
