Why sexual health after SCI matters

Among the many functions that can potentially be compromised due to a spinal cord injury, one's sexual function is up there on that long, exhaustive list.  A study of 681 individuals with SCI revealed some stunning results.  For individuals with paraplegia, improved sexual function was the number 1 priority for recovery of function, whereas for those with tetraplegia, sexual function was second only to regaining arm and hand function.  Clearly, sex matters.

Yet, there's a lot of confusion and lack of understanding when it comes to a man and woman's sexual health following a spinal cord injury and, as with everything else, no two injuries may experience the same results regardless of how similar the extent of the injury might have been.  We found this article that dives into the topic from A to Z and two accompanying videos (no worries, no porn here) well worth reviewing.
